Cleopatra's Kitchen

Cleopatra gave extravagant feasts. They were far more prodigious than any known in Rome. They were especially noteworthy for the magnificence of the table settings which were gold and silver encrusted with precious stones. Cleopatra called them her kerama or earthenware.
