Osoraken I was the son of Shoshenk I and
later became the second Pharaoh of the 22nd Dynasty. Osoraken I continued to
provide strong leadership throughout this period for the kingdom of Egypt. He
is noted for removing his brother from the chief priesthood of Amun at Karnak
and putting his son, Shoshenk II, in his place in 840 B.C.E.
