Choris

This Indian culture is located in northern to northwestern present day Canada. The Choris Indian culture began to inhabit this area in about 2500 year BP. This culture engaged in a small tool working tradition, called the microblade. To make these tools, they used flint. With these tools made, they hunted beluga and walrus on the sea, and on the land they hunted caribou. The caribou was the most important animal for food and clothing. This Choris culture probably had a niche of open fire pits to cook their food. This Indian culture is the forefathers of the later Norton culture. These Indians lived along the sea coast in house with solid foundations and heavy roofs.
