Kogruk Culture
The culture of the Kogruk Indians
lived in the north west area of present day
Canada and Alaska. They began to settle this area in about 9500
years BP and lived there until about 7500 years BP. This Kogruk Indian culture
was related to the
British
Mountain culture, also located in northwestern Canada. The Kogruk Indians
made weapons and tools to hunt with. They made items such as points to kill
their prey, usually bison and caribou. The points they used came in many
different styles such as unificial, bificial, and mirocblades. This culture
also lived in houses which were dug into the ground for foundations and then
built upwards.
