Algonquian
The Algonquians live and lived in the woodlands of northern and southern Canada. This Indian culture settled this land area at about 1000 years BP (Before Present). They hunted many different animals including beaver, caribou, elk, and bear. They used the hides from these animals to make their wardrobes, moccasins, and snow shoes. The animals were hunted using a niche of projectile points made from flint. The Algonquians also used a large quantity of wood. They used birch bark to make canoes and boxes for storage. They covered bent saplings with the hides of animals for shelter.
The Algonquians are best known as hunters who make the best traps and snares. The traps and snares came in many forms and changed with the season.
