Brewerton

The Brewerton Phase occurred between 2000-3000 B.C. and was locate in northern and central New York. The Robinson and Oberlander no. 1 sites covered about 2-3 acres of artifact deposits. They contained chipped-stone, notched and triangular Brewerton style projectile points. Also found were scrapers, knives, drills, hammer stones, bone awls and bone gorges. Most of their food consisted of white-tailed deer; other wild game, fishing and nut collecting were seasonal pursuits. There is also evidence of hide-working, bone-working, wood-working and flint napping.
