Eva
The Eva culture resided near the in-land riverbanks of Tennessee during the Archaic period of about 6000 BP. This site is defined by the extensive amounts of clam shells near the site. The diet of this culture consisted mainly of fresh water mussels, native berries and nuts, as well as local fauna such as deer. Such tools as chipped knives, bi-facial scrapers, and drills made of bone and stone have been located. It wasnt until the Three Mile Phase that trade with northern neighbors is thought to have begun. Such items as copper and various marine shells as well as bird-bone beads, animal teeth and stone pendants were discovered among the various local artifacts.
