Indian Knoll

The Indian Knoll civilization dates back to about 5000 BP during the late archaic period and was native to the region known today as Kentucky. The culture was similar to that of the Eva culture, except for the form of shelter used. The Indian Knoll peoples housing seemed to be more obscure, as two clay floor areas were found having an area of 14 square meters, allowing only enough room for a nuclear family to live. The burial sites indicated much trade with other areas of the region, displaying "exotic" grave goods, which represented individual achievements.
