Gypsum Cave

Gypsum Cave is a site that is associated with the early Desert tradition. It is located in Nevada near Las Vegas. Radiocarbon dates from the cave date from as early as 8500 BC- 6500 BC. In the lower levels of the cave bones of ground sloth and camel are found, along with man made fire pits, dart shafts, fore shafts, basket fragments, and a diamond shaped point known as the Gypsum Cave point.
