McKean
The McKean phase is located in northeastern Wyoming. It was not
occupied until 3000 BC. due to extreme temperatures and aridity. The main
projectile point of the area during this time was the lanceolate point, a hold
over from the earlier Big-Game tradition. Deposits within the site indicate
that bison hunting was favorable year round. However, deer, antelope, birds,
reptiles, and mussel shells were also found within the site.
