Oak Grove
The Oak Grove Indian culture was located north of present day San
Diego in California. This culture moved into this region at about 6950 years
BP. This culture of Indians is also related to the San Dieguito Indian culture,
located in southern California. These Indians had a niche for making tools such
as early projectile points, bone awls, flakers beads, atlatl hooks, scrapers,
cutting tools, and hammer stones. The early projectile points were made into
leaf-shapes. They were then used to hunt animals which surrounded their
landscape. This culture of Oak Grove was known for their tool making more than
for being hunters.
