    Hire the right people for your organization!    Tips and pointers on effectively planning, recruiting and hiring your workforce with an emphasis on interviewing techniques will be shared.  Best practices in bringing employees on board and providing an environment for employees’ immediate success will also be covered.

    Performance Management and Succession Planning
    October 8, 2008 9:00-11:30 A.M.

    Effective employee performance evaluations are an essential component of talent management and development.  Learn the tricks and tools for conducting performance evaluations, incorporating concepts of employee development, avoiding common pitfalls and staying positive in a sometimes difficult process.   Basics of succession planning and the critical role performance evaluations play in this process will be shared.

    You have good employees - now you want to keep them.  Employee development strategies for both current and future positions and employee engagement concepts such as satisfaction and commitment, along with other strategies to retain your work force, will be presented.

    Effective Leadership and Teamwork
    November 5, 2008 9:00-11:30 A.M.

    How do you get maximum performance from your employees?   Leadership and group processes that contribute to effective performance will be discussed.   Working with others and best practices for managing human and social capital within your organization will also be covered.

    Managing Change and Conflict
    November 19, 2008 9:00-11:30 A.M.

    Two areas common to every business – change and conflict – are the focus of this session.   Learn how to lead employees through change and to understand the dynamics of the change process along with dealing with difficult people, de-escalating difficult situations, and managing conflict.

  • Presenter:

    Andi Lassiter has been at Minnesota State University, Mankato for three years, serving as a faculty member in the Industrial/Organizational Psychology program. She also serves as a consultant with the Organizational Effectiveness Research Group, providing management consulting to the business community. Andi earned her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from George Mason University. She conducts research and has published in books and articles in the areas of management, group processes, emotions in the workplace, and training and learning.
