These courses are designed to provide contractors, electricians, architects, building engineers and facility management professionals with a solid foundation of knowledge in designing, building and maintaining energy efficient homes and businessess.
Select one or all of these extraordinary modules. Module certificates will be issued for participants completing individual modules, and for individuals completing all modules a program certificate will be issued.
Location: Minnesota State University - Trafton East
Credits: Each module is worth 1.0 Continuing Education Units, or a total of 7.0 Continuing Education Units for the entire 7 module program. These credits are professionally transcripted as Minnesota State University Mankato ceu's.
Cost: You may qualify for a scholarship to fund a single module or the entire program. Over 60 scholarships will be offered for this program.
$99.00 per session. $693 for the entire program. These courses have been approved for WIA (Workforce Investment Act) funding for dislocated workers. If you are currently working with a job counselor at the Minnesota Workforce Center you may incorporate this training into your job plan and it will be funded through their office. Contact the Minnesota Workforce Center - Mankato office for information.
Schedule: The 70 clock hours of instruction can be completed evenings and weekends between August 22, 2009 and November 15, 2009. Each module includes 2 class sessions. This module introduces participants to the following topics: building classifications (function, location, size, occupancy profile, HVAC system, etc.), building envelop considerations, HVAC equipment and systems, lighting systems, energy accounting (demand profile, rate optimization), waste accounting, operation and maintenance practices, waste accounting, short-term monitoring, energy saving potentials, and energy audit forms.
