Program Description
|
The EBD Licensure Online Cohort Program has been developed to meet the needs of individuals employed as teachers while seeking a teaching license in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders who reside beyond a reasonable driving distance from Minnesota State Mankato. |

Admission Requirements
|
- Copy of a current teaching license
- Letter of support from building administrator (principal/superintendent/director)
- Letter of commitment to the cohort process from the prospective student
- Two official transcripts with a GPA of 3.0 (within your undergraduate education major)
- Acceptance by Graduate School
|

Other Requirements
|
- On-campus attendance both summers:
- During first week of August for Orientation (2 Cr)
- One week during June for Instructional Strategies (4 Cr)
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0
- Continuous enrollment in cohort
- Additional fee for student teaching supervision
- Meet all Minnesota State University enrollment criteria
- Access to a computer with:
- Internet connection
- CD drive, DVD preferable
- Internet browser (IE or Netscape)
- Microsoft Word 98 or above

- SPED 405 Individuals with Exceptional Needs (3 Cr) OR
- SPED 605 Introduction to the Psychology and Education of Exceptional Children and Youth 3 (Cr)
- SPED 4/548 Behavior Management (3 Cr)

- SPED 619 Education of Students with Mild Disabilities (4 Cr)
- SPED 639 Transition Planning for Students with Mild Disabilities (3 Cr)
- SPED 645 Formal/Informal Clinical Procedures (3 Cr)
