Program Description

K-12 Reading Teacher Licensure is an 18 month graduate program. The program is fully online, meaning students schedule learning at their convenience. It meets the standards for reading teacher licensure in Minnesota. Themes include classroom and individual assessment, evidence-based instructional strategies, English Language Learners, and technology.

Admission Requirements

Candidates are admitted to the program based on the following qualifications:

  • Current Teaching License
  • GPA of at least 2.75 from previous course work
  • Recommendation from one administrator

Admission to MSU College of Graduate Studies is also required.

  • EEC 619 Reading Assessment and Diagnosis (4 Cr)
  • EEC 620 Effective Reading for Content Areas (3 Cr)
  • EED 625 Instructional Strategies and Remediation (3 Cr)
