The online courses at MSU are offered through Desire2Learn (D2L).

Minnesota State University's primary method of contacting students is through the university's email system, MavMAIL.

Please set-up your MavMAIL username and password before proceeding. Also, the username and password you use to access MavMAIL will be the same that you use to access D2L.

In order to access MavMAIL and D2L, you first need to set-up a username and password:

1. To get your username and password, visit https://www.mnsu.edu/its/userid/ and enter your Tech ID and PIN. (Your TechID and PIN are the same that you used to register for the course, pay your bill, etc.)
2. On this site, once logged in, you will see your username at the top. It will also say, Password reset. This is where you will put in whatever password you would like to use. Password guidelines are given on that page.

Once your username and password are established, visit:

1. https://d2l.mnsu.edu, the website for Desire2Learn. Here, enter your username and password you set.
2. Once logged in, you will see your course listed under the current semester title. You may have to click the '+' sign next to the semester to view the courses listed.

Some systems have dificulty accessing D2L content through Internet Explorer. It is strongly recommended that you use Firefox. The latest version of Firefox can be downloaded at http://www.getfirefox.com
