Stop by if you did not pre-register and/or if your student did not pick up your purchased football tickets prior to the weekend. Schedules, maps, and Mankato visitor information will be available.

2:00PM Maverick Soccer vs Augustana

Soccer Pitch, behind Lot 1

Come and enjoy a soccer match as the Mavericks take on the Vikings. Current MSU students with MavCard along with Family Weekend participants get in free.

2:07PM Maverick Women's Hockey vs Merrimack

Mankato Civic Center, Downtown Mankato

Come out to a women's hockey game as the Mavericks take on the Warriors. Current MSU students with MavCard along with Family Weekend participants get in free. 

3:00PM – 5:00PM Memorial Library Open House and Tours

Meet at Centennial Student Union Family Weekend Information Station - Mav Ave

Brief tours highlighting the different library services and resources available on the Minnesota State Mankato campus.

5:00PM – 11:30PM FREE Cosmic Bowling and Billiards

Maverick Bullpen, lower level of the Centennial Student Union

Lanes and billiards tables will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Otto Recreation Center

Head for a great workout, play some basketball, or do many other activities in our campus recreation center. Just sign in at the desk and enjoy your time at the Rec Center! Free access for our Family Weekend Guests. Open Gym, Walking/Jogging Track, Weight Room, Cardio Area and Racquetball Courts. No minors in Weight Room or Cardio Area.

7:07PM Maverick Men's Hockey vs Bowling Green

Mankato Civic Center, Downtown Mankato

Reserved seats for adults are $18 and for youth $10 and can be purchased at Ticketmaster or at the ticket window at the arena before the game. Current MSU students subject to normal ticket distribution policy executed the week of the game.


8:00PM – 10:00PM Star Gazing CANCELLED

Andreas Observatory

See the universe like you've never seen it before - and learn something new about the expanses of space! Park your vehicle on the south end of Lot 1 near the intramural fields. You can reach the observatory by a short walk south on the gravel road from lot 1. Weather permitting; check the Family Weekend Schedule online for cancellation updates.

8:00PM A Night of Maverick Magic

Bresnan Arena, Taylor Center

Enjoy an evening of laughter, magic, and amazing human feats at Maverick Du Solei. Host and Emcee, Pip toe comedic Illusionist with make the crowd laugh and rejoice with his act from Australia. The night will feature cirque style acts including aerialists, hoop jumps, and a special LED dance special. Come for the free family fun!

9:45AM Family Weekend Kids Stomper Sprint

Fitness Trail Entrance/Outdoor Track, near the MSU softball fields and Green Parking Lot 1

Calling all kids to join Stomper for a kids fun run on our outdoor track! 100-meter fun run for kids ages 4 and under and a 400-meter (1 lap) fun run for kids ages 5 and up. No preregistration. Meet at the entrance to the track (right next to the start of the 5K) by 9:10am. A waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian the morning of the event in order for the child to participate.

10:00AM Family Weekend 5k Fun Run/Walk

Fitness Trail, near the MSU softball fields and Green Parking Lot 1

Join us for a FREE non-competitive 5k fun run/walk on our paved fitness trail by the softball fields and Green Parking Lot 1. T-shirts are provided to the first 200 participants who check in at the 5k registration table on the day of the event starting at 8:45am. A separate pre-registration is required for this event. Day of registrations are accepted starting at 8:45am. A waiver must be signed by all participants the morning of the event in order to participate.

Myers Field House

Enjoy games, indoor rock wall climbing, inflatables and other great fun for the entire family, brought to you in part by the Residence Hall Association (RHA). 

10:00AM - 12:00PM Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony

The Office of Alumni Relations presents the Distinguished Alumni Awards once a year to honor alumni who have enhanced teh reputation of the University through their actions, hard work, and achievement. General admission cost is $5 for adults (normally $10) and FREE for youth ages 17 and under (normally $5) for pre-registered Family Weekend family members. Current MSU students get in free with MavCard. Purchase the discount tickets when registering for Family Weekend.

Come out for some exciting diving as the Mavericks take on the Gusties and the Pointers. Current MSU students get in free with MavCard along with Family Weekend participants.

1:30PM - 3:30PM Disc Golf

Lot 1

Come play a round of MSU's 9-hole Maverick Disc Golf course! Our very own par 3 disc golf course is open for you to play, dawn til dusk. Meet the Campus Recreation staff at the northwest corner of lot 1 (right field fence of the Women's Softball diamond) to grab a scorecard, map, and check out a disc to use. Feel free to bring your own disc golf discs too.

Three shows: 8pm, 9pm, and 10pm. Please arrive 30 minutes early to the show. Limit 350 people per show - reserve your free tickets  mnsuevents.com starting October 21.

Over $2000.00 in prizes. Here’s your chance to “come on down” to “The Price is Right.” Back by popular demand, the Student Events Team of Minnesota State University, Mankato will be hosting the “The Price is Right” game show. This live version of the TV show will give students and families a chance to win prizes such as groceries from Hy-Vee, kitchen appliances, Kwik Trip gift cards, or trips on the landline shuttle and much more! Original "The Price is RIght" games will be included. Students can get as close to the real deal by playing games such as Plinko, Hole in One, The Cliffhanger, Pay the Rent, Pocket Change and many more. Sponsors for this event include the Summit and Jacob Heights.
