From your first day of classes to Commencement, you'll find it easier to take an active role in your learning and your future when you participate in a Learning Community. Participants have significantly higher cumulative grade point averages, stay in school longer, have more meaningful interactions with faculty, and report a greater satisfaction with their overall college experience. There are day-to-day benefits as well, like co-enrollment in core courses together with your floormates, ready-made study groups right on your floor, service opportunities, and social events just for Learning Community participants. You'll have the advantages of a small college learning environment with all of the resources of one of Minnesota's outstanding larger universities.
To enroll in a Learning Community, you must be admitted to Minnesota State Mankato as a first year student; have a residence hall reservation; and meet the program requirements for the specific Learning Community you select. Details for each Learning Community are outlined here.
