Learning Communities 2009-2010:

Thanks for your willingness to be involved in the lives of MSU's first and second-year students!  Students' success is often determined by how connected they feel to their University, and the Learning Communities program provides an avenue for students to feel like they belong here and to be supported in their academic goals.  The Office of First Year Experience and the student participants in the Learning Communities program appreciate your extra time and effort in making this year a successful one!

Someone you'll want to get to know is the Learning Community Coordinator for your Learning Community.  A Learning Community Coordinator is an upper-class student who serves as a resource and liaison for Learning Community students.  This student is a critical link in the success of the Learning Community as they help students develop personal academic plans, coordinate study groups, refer students to campus resources, plan community events and often assist with instruction of a First Year Seminar course.  In addition, the Learning Community Coordinator serves as an invaluable academic and social role model for first year students.

Please feel free to contact Kate Hansen in the Office of First Year Experience if you have questions about your Learning Community.
