Every semester, 70 students spend a collective 345 hours per week calling alumni and friends to raise money for the Minnesota State Mankato Annual Fund. Each week, they hear from guest faculty and administration about what's new and upcoming for the University so they can share with you the kind of news alumni and friends need in order to know their degree holds greater and greater value each year.
They've got plenty of campus news to share and sure, they're happy to pass on your greetings, suggestions and requests to faculty and staff. And yes, you'll be asked to make a gift. But remember, these students are not merely fundraisers. They are spokespeople for Minnesota State University, Mankato and serve as important liaisons between our alumni and friends and the staff on campus.
And they know that's not why you'll pick up the phone or why you'll stay on the line. You'll take time from your evening because that student reminds you, most likely, of your years on campus. Their outreach to alumni forms a bridge between Minnesota State University's past and present. And we owe them a huge debt of gratitude -- because their hard work is literally building Minnesota State Mankato's future.
Last year, your contributions led to an Annual Fund total of more than $675,000 for scholarships, programs, facilities and more. These gifts, of all sizes, from people just like you, provide unrestricted funds -- a pool of resources that can be easily directed to where they are needed most.
