Outstanding Student Employee Award

The Outstanding Student Employee Awards is selected annually by the Employee Recognition Committee. Each Vice President (or President for those units reporting directly to the President) will nominate one student employee from their division to the Employee Recognition Committee. The divisions can determine how they want to select their nominee, e.g. through a committee or through nominations to the VP/President. The award will be presented at the annual Fall Convocation.

Criteria for nomination and selection include, but are not limited to:

  • Exceptional service to students, faculty, staff or external constituents during the course of the student’s employment
  • Continually going “above and beyond the call of duty”
  • Exceptional performance on a special project or assignment
  • Significant contributions to the university community
  • Achievement of specialized skill or knowledge in a particular field

Only those students actively employed at Minnesota State University are eligible.

The award will consist of a framed certificate signed by the President and Vice President for the division and an “Outstanding Service” paperweight.

Each division should select their nominee in April, before the end of the academic year. Then the selection process should proceed. Divisions should notify the Employee Recognition Committee of their selection by June 30, so that appropriate arrangements can be made for certificates and paperweights.
