MSU > I/O Psychology > International Travel

Every other year, the MSU I/O program embarks on an international trip. All students are expected to participate in the trip while they are enrolled in the I/O program at MSU. The trips provide exposure to international aspects of I/O psychology and give students a rich cross cultural experience. Over the last 15 years we have visited England, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, Spain and Thailand. This year, we are going to Vietnam and Hong Kong.

South Africa 2008

Students and faculty will travel to South Africa for two weeks in May of 2008.  The trip will consist of collaborating with students from Eden Campus in Karatara.  Eden Campus is South Africa’s first free rural eco-business school for entrepreneurs.

Participants on the trip will assist with program and campus development.  During the second week of the trip students will travel from Karatara to Cape Town along the scenic Garden Route.

During the tour, students and faculty will attend a traditional braai, take a bike tour of Karatara and Outeniqua mountains, visit  KooBoo Berry Farm, participate in a drumming seminar with Nidhi Chaitow and Richelle Kohn, visit a game lodge, tour Agulhas National Park and visit Robben Island.  While in Karatara, participants will stay at the new Eden Campus eco-tourism academy. The trip is being organized as collaboration with MSU I/O program and MSU’s Construction Management Department. The trip will be lead by Scott Fee and Dan Sachau.
