What is Interactive Classroom Technology?
Interactive Classroom Technology creates interactivity between an educator and their students. Educators use this technology to engage learners in the lesson and to check the progression of knowledge in specific subjects.
These tools are fully supported. Contact the ITS Service Desk at 507.389.6654 for assistance.
- ChimeIn- ChimeIn is a learner response system that was developed by University of Minnesota and changed to fit our needs at Minnesota State Mankato. Faculty can sync ChimeIn to their live courses to take attendance or assess their students or it can be used to get anonymous information from anyone. Learners respond via laptop, tablet, mobile device by navigating to a webpage or by text messaging in their responses.
- Smart Board - The Smart Board is an interactive whiteboard that uses touch detection like a tablet or iPad. We have the Smartboard software and Smartboard Notebook software free for all faculty, staff and students to use at Minnesota State Mankato. You need 3 things to make the smartboards work: a smartboard in the room, the smartboard software, and a receiver (this is usually attached to a USB extension in the classrooms on campus).
