Note: These directions are for rooms without a touch screen. If you are using a touch screen, replace steps 2 and 3 with selecting the "Laptop" button on your touch screen

  1. Begin by plugging the VGA connector, which is accessible from the top of the cabinet, into the back port of your laptop. Then turn on your laptop

  2. Open the cabinet and hold in the "Display Power" button for three seconds.

  3. After the system has turned on and all lights have stopped flashing, push the laptop button on the control panel until it turns blue.

  4. If you are using a Dell computer, hold "Fn" key down and press "F8". If you are using a IBM Thinkpad, hold "Fn" key down and press "F7". This allows you to toggle between laptop view, laptop and projector view, and projector view.

  5. Lastly, when class is finished, hold in the "Display Power" button for three seconds or until the green light blinks to power down the system.

Quick Tips

  1. To view Mac laptop on projector screen: Go to the Apple Menu
  2. Go to the Control Panel
  3. Click on Monitors and Sound
  4. Under Resolution, select SimulScan

Older laptops without "Fn" capabilities

  1. Right-click on your Desktop, go to Properties
  2. Click on the Settings Tab, then click on Advanced
  3. Go to the NeoMagic tab
  4. Under Internal Display: Make sure LCD is checked
  5. Under External Display: Make sure CRT/Projector is checked
  6. Check Set Dual-Display, click OK
