MavNet Wireless

MavNET is a campus-wide Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n wireless network. It offers Internet connectivity to students, faculty, and staff with laptops, handheld computers, and other wireless devices. MavNet is available in nearly all study areas, lounges, food facilities, general-purpose classrooms, labs, auditoriums and outdoor gathering areas.

MavGUEST  Wi-Fi is available in Centennial Student Union and is available in other areas upon requst.

Guest wireless accounts can be created by any faculty or staff here.

Requirements

• Hardware: Wi-Fi compatible 802.11a, 802.11b/g or 802.11n wireless network card installed and switched on.
  Note:Some network cards may require firmware or driver updates.
  The Campus Computer Store offers recommended wireless network adapters that have been fully tested with MavNet.
• Software: Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000, Mac OS9/X.
  Note: Windows ME/NT/98/95, iPad, Android, BlackBerry and Linux may work, but support by our technical staff is limited.
• Authentication: University employees, currently enrolled students and visitors (by special permission) can use E-account credentials to access the wireless network.

  • (Re)set your E-account password
  • Using the wireless as a Guest

Configuration

Please follow the instructions below to configure your wireless device to use encryption to ensure your communication is not easily intercepted and viewed by others.
