Report Spam & Phishing

If you receive a suspicious-looking phishing email that targets Students, Faculty & Staff and appears to come from Minnesota State Mankato, do not click on any of the links. Instead, attach the spam message to a new email and send it to spam@mnsu.edu immediately. ITS Security will take measures to minimize the risk to our campus community.

Please follow any of the steps bellow to send spam message to a new email attachment

Step 1

Open any browser and type www.mavmail.mnsu.edu or click here

Click "Login to MavMAIL"

Step 3

Click +New/Write a new message(N). It will open a new write email/message box.

Select the (spam/phishing/suspicious) email/emails and drag and drop to the new write message/email box. You can attach multiple email attachments at a time.

From Outlook Menu Bar select Home and click on the red boxed icon "More > Forward as Attachment" under Meeting

Select email/s you want to report and Right Click for options. Then select "Forward As Attachment" from the dropdown options

If you have ever received phishing or scam emails, please delete them from your Inbox.

If you opened a phishing email, clicked on a link and think your device might have a virus, please reset your password immediately and/or contact the Service Desk for assistance.
