Flute Association, based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The title of Randy
Granger's song "Two Rivers Meet" aptly describes the geographical
location of Mankato, where the Blue Earth River meets the Minnesota
River at Sibley Park. This confluence is the place where an annual
pow wow takes place. It is officially known as the "Mahkato
Wacipi - Honoring the 38 Dakota - All Nations Welcome (Sept. 18,
19, 20 2009. (Wa-CHEE-pee means dance in the Dakota language)
