(this song was sung throughout Ireland on Good Friday - this version comes from the repertoire of Sorcha Ní Ghuairim a reknowned traditional singer for Connemara who was recorded in the 1940's by the Irish Folklore Commission.

A journey to the source of sacred Irish song. A small treasury of rare religious songs survives, to this day,in the rich singing tradition of Ireland. The two main types were the lulluby and the lament.
