A Step into the Computer Underground “By Understanding The Enemy We Are Better Prepared To Defend Ourselves”
Presentation provides participants with a pratical understanding of the various methods used for attacking networks and computer systems. Participants will learn the concepts, principles and techniques for attacking and disabling a network. These methodologies are intended to provide insight into the use of detection strategies and countermeasures needed to properly secure network servers, hardware and clients.
Darren Dannen and Daniel Nash
Darren Dannen is currently a senior security program manager for the Center for Strategic Information Technology and Security managing various aspects of MnSCU’s (Minnesota State Colleges and University System) overall security program rollout. Prior to his work at the Center, he was a security specialist for Kroll Ontrack and worked as a network administrator with a Southwest Minnesota regional computing consortium. He is also an intelligence analyst for the U.S. Navel Reserve base in Minneapolis. Dannen received an MBA degree from University of Mary and an MS degree in Network Security from Capitol College. He is a CISSP and is adjunct professor for several institutions in security and networking.
