Dissemination of Information

Communicating with students: At the University of Pittsburgh, we have an “Expert Partners” program in place that allows the exchange of information. This allows two way communication between our centralized IT department and IT staff within departments in the University. However, until recently, we did not have a system in place providing information to students. In order to improve communications, we have taken an active part in the University’s new student orientation to give information to incoming students. We also have implemented an annual “Love Your Computer Week” designed to educate students using creative and hands-on activities covering a variety of IT topics.

Later, Steven joined the Windows Lab Image team, maintaining lab images for all University of Pittsburgh campuses, as well as being a part of the ResNet program. Last year Steven was made a Senior Technical Coordinator within Pitt’s Student Computing Services, the name given to Pitt’s combined Campus Computing Labs and ResNet programs.
