Jacob Bohrod completed his M.A. in critical studies at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts where he currently pursues a Ph.D. His areas of interest include the ethics of interaction in new media, the theory-practice binary, as well as translation and untranslatability in transnational cinema and visual media. Jake studied journalism and film at MSU Mankato where he was first introduced to the overlap between cultural and media studies in courses such as German Cinema. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
Nathan Ebel ’14, graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in German and Anthropology. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Latin at the University of Innsbruck in Austria. He hopes to continue with Latin at the Ph.D. level and eventually become a professor of Latin literature at a German speaking university.
Kimberly Nickel '10, studied German Education and is currently working as a German teacher at St. Francis High School in St. Francis, MN. She teaches grades 9-12 and four levels of German. "My time at MSU helped me to become the German teacher I am today. It not only helped to build the language abilities I need everyday, but also grew within me knowledge and cultural competency as well as the desire to understand my role as a global citizen." She loves that she gets to pass on her passion and love for both the German language and learning new cultures to her students everyday. Kimberly has been awarded the competetive national German Embassy Teacher of Excellence Award 2015, which honors outstanding-up-and-coming teacher for their excellence and engagement in their German programs and their contributiond to their regional AATG chapter.
