The German program offers both long-term and short-term study abroad options. We encourage students strongly to participate in these opportunities and to consult with faculty early in the planning process. All the credits accumulated regarding the field of German language, literature, and culture studies transfer back and towards German major and minor requirements. Students may also be eligible for financial aid for their study abroad experience. Students study abroad at different times, depending on language background, academic progress, and maturity level. For best results and to have a range of course offerings available, students should have completed at least GER 201 Intermediate German I or equivalent before going abroad. Please discuss particulars of academic planning of your German studies experience with German program director. For general information on study abroad and administrative information and deadlines see the Kearney International Center.
