Mastering the German language allows students to live and work anywhere in the world where German is spoken and and prepares them for careers in a global environment. It gives students an edge when looking job opportunities with companies that are based in or do business with other companies in Germany. It also gives them an understanding of the German culture, literature, and history that will help them feel at home in Germany and elsewhere around the world. That’s one of the reasons why we strongly encourage German majors to consider studying abroad during the course of their college careers.
The Department of World Languages & Cultures offers the following undergraduate German degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Teaching, and a German minor. Course offerings can be found in the Undergraduate Bulletin.
