¡Bienvenido!

Thank you for your interest in undergraduate study in Spanish at Minnesota State University, Mankato!

Mastering the Spanish language allows students to live and work anywhere in the world where Spanish is spoken and prepares them for careers in a global environment. It gives students an edge when looking for job opportunities with companies that are based in or do business with other companies in Spanish-speaking nations. It gives them an understanding of Spanish cultures, literature and history that will help them feel at home around the world. That's one of the reasons that we strongly encourage Spanish majors to study abroad during the course of their college careers. The department sponsors year-round programs in Spain, Ecuador, and Costa Rica; students who take advantage of these program, or of other accredited study abroad experiences in Spanish speaking countries, may receive credit if departmental approval is obtained in advance.

The Department of World Languages & Cultures offers the following Spanish degrees: Master of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Teaching, and a Spanish minor. The Department collaborates with the College of Education to provide the Masters in Arts in Teaching World Languages: Spanish. Course offerings can be found in the Undergraduate Bulletin.

Questions about the Spanish program should be directed to the Spanish faculty
