Rita Hookstead

Rita Hookstead is a family-centered person who puts her faith and her family first in her life. In 1993, she made the choice to stay home with her children so her husband could focus on his career in veterinary medicine. Over the following three years, she also attended school and finished a Master's Degree in Marketing.

In 1996, Rita began a home-based business providing design, print, and mailing services. In the past decade, Mailing Expert LLC has grown from her dining room to a 1500 square foot office - built next to their home. Rita took an additional challenge in 2003 when she began working with her brother to build "The Date Safe Project," a national organization focused on teaching consent and respect to students. Today, Mailing Expert LLC serves clients across the country and "The Date Safe Project" is one of the most sought after programs in schools.

In addition to running her business, she is very active with church events & programs, school fundraisers, and her children's activities. To help maintain her focus each day, Rita reads regularly and trains and competes for triathlons.

By having her office only 80 feet from her home, Rita continues to be there for her children after school; when they are sick; and throughout the summer. She is able to support her husband who recently opened a new veterinary clinic. While others have defined Rita as "successful", she does not believe in using that word. Her faith has taught her to look at life as a journey with challenges and glorious moments filling the road. Rita is appreciative and thankful to have her family, friends, and God in her life.
