Minnesota State Mankato's Learning Communities provide students with academic and social support that leads to success in college and beyond. Participants gain access to faculty, peer mentoring and advising designed to help them stay on track and finish in four years.
Research on learning communities tells us that learning community participants are more likely than non-learning community students to have higher grades, to find opportunities to interact with faculty, to get involved in campus activities and events, and to report greater satisfaction with their overall college experience.
Giving back to the community is one of many opportunities for learning community students. Learning Communities make a positive impact on campus and in the community through service projects. Each learning community will choose a project, often related to their major or course subjects.
