The LGBT Center is happy to announce that we have won the bid for the Minnesota Out! Campus Conference 2008! This will be the third year of the conference, and as the host, we'll play a large role in deciding who the keynote speakers and entertainment will be, what workshops will be offered, etc. We will be forming a planning committee early next semester, so stay tuned to hear more!
Speaking of conferences, it's time to start thinking about going to the MBLGTACC 2008 (a.k.a. the Big Gay Conference). This year it will be hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign February 22-24. It's going to be a long trip, and we're not yet sure exactly how we're going to get there, so first we need to know how many people are going. We don't have a sign-up sheet yet, but look at your calendars and see if you'll be able to make it.
December 1st is World AIDS Day. We will be tabling in the CSU the week prior, and HIV testing will be available on Thursday, November 29th in CSU 285 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. On Saturday the 1st, SCMN Pride will host another Pride Dance at the VFW. More details to come!
shOUT is back and ready for another year! Meetings will be at 5pm in CSU 204 (Nichols Room) except for a few occasions when it will be in CSU 202 (Cooper Room). This week's meeting will be in the Nichols Room. If you are interested in assisting in meetings, participating, or both, please feel free to come to any of the meetings. Each week, we will try to plan for a different topic to discuss in addition to supporting each other's coming out processes, no matter what stage we may each be at.
