The quarterly tuition fee is $5 per presentation/class up to $30. Ex: 1 presentation/classe = $5; 5 presentations/classes = $25; 7 presentations/classes = 30.

Membership Dues

The annual membership has changed - Membership is now good for one year from the date of purchase.

$25 for a single
$45 for a couple
$130 for a single membership and 4 quarters of presentations/classes
$250 for a couple membership and 4 quarters of presentations/classes

#1: CANOEING WITH THE CREE

In the summer 1930, Eric Sevareid and Walter Port paddled 2,250 miles including the entire Minnesota River, to Hudson Bay. Come hear Minnesota DNR Area Naturalist Scott Kudelka recount their story. See images of the route and learn about the challenges faced by these two young men on this epic, once-in-a-lifetime journey. Their story was recorded by Sevareid in his book Canoeing with the Cree. The journal has inspired others to retrace their trip, including Ann Raiho and Natalie Warren, the first two women to paddle this historic route.

#3: NEIGHBORS, NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS – AND YOU

What are the purposes and benefits of having a neighborhood association? Learn from a volunteer leader about the benefits of involvement in a variety of roles, including the handling of parking issues. A police officer will join us to discuss the law enforcement perspective.

#4: “A GIFT FOR TURNING LANGUAGE INTO SOMETHING IRIDENSCENT AND SURPISING”: ZELDA AND F. SCOTT FITZGERALD

Both Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald turned their marriage and their Jazz Age experiences into novels and stories of considerable merit. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s debt to Zelda’s diaries and their life together has been more fully explored recently, as has their artistic rivalry. The Presenter, Dr. Anne O’Meara, received her PHD in English from the University of Minnesota and has taught American Literature and Composition at Minnesota State University, Mankato for 24 years.

#5: MANKATO BREWING COMPANY (Class Limit 30)

In January 2012 Mankato Brewery was proud to revive the brewing tradition in the Key City. Mankato Brewery is the first production brewery in the community since 1967. It is focused on creating authentic beers that reflect the heritage of the region and its people. Take a tour of the new Mankato area brewery. Learn what’s new in the area’s suds industry.
