Students, Faculty and Staff,

Many of you have taken advantage of the optional banking feature with your MavCARD, linking a TCF checking account that has enabled you to use your MavCARD as an ATM & PIN-based debit card.

As of May 31, 2009, the University’s five-year partnership with TCF Bank has ended. Wells Fargo has been named the University’s new MavCARD banking partner, as of June 1, 2009.

What does this mean for you?

If you have a TCF checking account, you will continue to have that account but it will not be accessible through your MavCARD after May 31, 2009. Your TCF VISA check card will continue to function at merchant and ATM locations; your MavCARD will not.
If your direct deposit authorization with the University is directed to your TCF checking account, it will remain, unless you choose otherwise.
The TCF campus branch location on the main level of the Centennial Student Union closed at the end of business on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. You may continue to bank with TCF through any of their other branch locations, found at www.tcfbank.com, and TCF will continue to provide an ATM in the Student Union across from Ostrander Auditorium.
Wells Fargo opened a campus branch location this summer at the former TCF location and is the new provider of checking accounts that can be linked to MavCARDs with ATM & PIN-based debit capabilities.
You are invited to replace your current MavCARD during our MavCARD Re-Card Days, free of charge. At that time you may take advantage of the optional banking feature, linking a Wells Fargo checking account to your MavCARD so you can use it as an ATM & PIN-based debit card.
