Eligibility

Students eligible for the MSU McNair Achievement
Program should meet the following criteria:

• A U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident.
• Currently enrolled at Minnesota State University, Mankato
  • In at least junior status.
  • Have a minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average.
• Belong to one of the following groups:
  • A first generation college student who meets government-mandated
    income guidelines or
  • A member of a group that is underrepresented in graduate education.

Prospective Scholars must express interest in:

• Pursuing graduate study leading to a Master's degree and a Ph.D.
• Conduct scholarly research.
• University teaching.
• Participating in summer research experiences near and abroad.
• Completing a summer research internship at a research center.
