Objectives
Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program
The MSU Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program strives to:
- Identify and select students for program participation
- Match each student with a mentor in his or her field/major
- Assist students in maintaining a 3.0 GPA prior to receiving a baccalaureate degree
- Provide students with social and cultural programs that will enhance participants' understanding of cultural diversity and their ability to achieve their educational goals in a multicultural society
- Encourage all participants to apply for doctoral or professional programs during their senior year
- Provide access to computer training and equipment for research and other academic activities
All participants, the MSU McNair Achievement, are expected to:
- Conduct original and independent research supervised by faculty mentors
- Attend all McNair events
- Fully participate in the research component of the program
- Graduate from college
- Apply to graduate and doctoral programs
