Objectives
Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program
The MSU Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program strives to:
- Identify and select students for program participation
- Match each student with a mentor in his or her field/major
- Assist students in maintaining a 3.0 GPA
- Provide students with social and cultural programs that will enhance participants' understanding of cultural diversity and their ability to achieve their educational goals in a multicultural society
- Encourage all participants to apply for terminal programs during their senior year
- Provide access to computer training and equipment for research and other academic activities
All MSU McNair Achievement scholars are expected to:
- Conduct original and independent research supervised by faculty mentors
- Attend all McNair events including but not limited to: orientation, research workshops, graduate school workshops, conferences, and the summer GRE preparatory course
- Present at the Undergraduate Research Conference (URC)
- Participate in graduate school campus visits
- Graduate from MSU Mankato in a timely fashion
- Apply to graduate programs
