Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program
The MSU Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program strives to:
- Provide research opportunities for participants
- Assist in linking students with faculty mentors
- Provide assistance to students, such as counseling, advising, and tutoring
- Sponsor workshops and/or seminars to help students succeed in graduate programs
- Provide students with information on various graduate programs
- Assist students with the application process for graduate school
- Help students prepare for the GRE
Activities and Program Features
The McNair Program features academic support and seminars during the fall and spring semesters, as well as a summer component that requires research with an MSU faculty mentor. McNair Achievement are eligible to receive the following incentives:
- Cash stipends
- Up to $500 for research supplies
- Funds to supplement travel to conferences and campus visitations
