This Round Table is open to the public and those present must pay for their own meal. This Lunch Bunch convenes at the Civic Center Hotel restaurant immediately following the regular monthly Board meeting which starts at 11:30 A.M. Depending on how windy the Board is, the secret presenter may start talking at 12 noon or 12:15 PM.

JoAn Frank Receives Above & Beyond Award

|
On July 13, Mankato City Center Hotel's JoAn Frank was awarded an "Above & Beyond" certificate by MACQ President Matt Chmielewski. The following testimonial was provided to the Council about JoAn's customer service.
"The Quality Council’s Board has a number of restaurants from which it can choose to host its monthly meetings. The City Center Hotel’s “101 Main Restaurant” has good food but it is the service provided by JoAn Frank that is the main attraction. She treats us like royalty and knows many of us on a first name basis, though she’s quick to keep a more formal conversation uppermost when talking to the Board President. Just great are her little extra touches – some of which she seems to do almost automatically – whether it’s keeping a lost coat button safe or gently reminding a Board member that their $5 may be a little short for the lunch bill. We are all impressed. JoAn Frank is a remarkable server and first class waitress."

Bukata Hayes talked about Diversity - July 13, 2010
At the Round Table meeting on July 13th, guest speaker Bukata Hayes, Executive Director of the Greater Mankato Diversity Council, spoke about the activities he and the many other individuals at GMDC do with K-12 children and helping teach about diversity. They are also not limited to just education in schools. Hayes also invites companies and organizations of all kinds to take part in these workshops.
Although students already learn about diversity in their current education, the Greater Mankato Diversity Council brings fresh perspectives and better prepares students to apply what they learn in order to reduce discrimination. Their mission is to build a commmunity where the attitudes and actions of its people foster mutual respect so that all can fully participate.
"Diversity...It's Respect • Period."
