Ashley was born on January 12, 1986 in Seoul, Korea. When she was three months old she was adopted by her parents Dale and Cynthia Hopp. Ashley has one older sister named Lora, who is also adopted. Ashley considers her hometown to be the farm site where she lived with her family in Hector, Minnesota but also has lived in a few other towns in Minnesota as she got older. While growing up Ashley enjoyed spending time with her family and cousins. She has a very large extended family and close relationships with her mother, father, and sister. Ashley values her family as the most important thing in her life. Ashley has struggled with her health most of her teenage years. At the end of her senior year she was finally diagnosed as having an Angio Septal defect which is a birth defect that caused a hole in her heart. In July of 2004 she under went surgery to repair her heart. Because of her health problems she missed out on most of her high school days.
Ashley is currently attending Minnesota State University Mankato. She is majoring in Marketing and International Business. With a clean bill of health she is ready to live her life to the fullest. She is planning to study abroad in New Zealand in February. Ashley is a very self confident woman who has overcome obstacles in her life without letting them discourage her. She is comfortable with her past and the person she has become today.
