Catherine Hoening, also known as Cathy or Cat, was born in Ipeswich, England, July 16, 1983. Cat is the youngest of three children, with one brother and one sister. Her mother, Laurie, who is a massage therapist, has been a major influence in Cat’s life. Her family moved around because her father, John, was in the air force. Growing up on the military base created a network of extended families. They moved from England to Mississippi in 1986, and then to Minnesota in 1987. This led Cat to become what she describes as a “travel bug.”
In high school, Cat was involved in sports and loved to dance. She went to Minnesota State Competition for dance her senior year of high school. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training the spring of 2005. She has been an active member of the sorority Sigma Sigma Sigma for the last three years. Cat currently lives in Mankato and is the manager of Pizza Hut. She plans eventually to attend graduate school for athletic training and is currently looking at schools in California and Pennsylvania.
