We feel as a group that the best part of the project was what we learned from our interview subject, Debra Howell. Debra is fifty-three and has been through a lot in her life. During the interview, Debra was able to share experiences from her generation, such as dating and growing up with a single parent. She went through events in her life that were difficult for the time. Growing up in a single-parent family is normal today unlike in her generation. An interesting story she talked about was car dating, where you were allowed to go on a date alone in a car with a boy. She also talked about her first prom, which we all could relate to. While growing up, Debra did not have much contact with her father. She also experienced a loss of a family member, which was a troubling time for her family. She had very interesting stories, which kept us intrigued throughout the interview. We are all thankful that we got the opportunity to meet and hear Debra’s life stories.
The second part of this project has taught us a lot about new technology. The equipment has been new and challenging to learn for all of us, but we all came in with open minds and have been successful at learning how to work the equipment. We hope that any visitors to this site will be able to learn as much as we have from doing this project.
