The easiest part of the project was definitely working with Gail. From the somewhat rushed beginning, she was more than willing to help us out in any way possible, and was incredibly empathetic to our cause. During the interview, she was candid, open, and energetic, which helped us work through our nervousness about the interview. Working on the video clips afterward gave our group plenty of time to reflect on what we learned from our experience with Gail.
As a group, we spent a lot of time in editing, working out the fine points of what we wanted to share about Gail and what we needed to leave out due to space restrictions. Overall the project was fairly enjoyable, and Gail's cooperation made it all the more pleasant. With each member of the group taking a little bit of the workload, as they could, the project quickly came to a close without many problems at all. The project really allowed everyone to contribute in the way they felt best. With the video capturing, the transcriptions, the correspondence between Gail and our group, there was plenty to do. We all learned a little about the interview process, how to work with video in the Windows Movie Maker, and how to prepare it for web-broadcast.
We hope that visitors to this website enjoy our interview with Gail as much as we did. She was truly a fascinating person, and her stories and anecdotes contribute greatly to the Coming of Age project.
