As a group, we found working with Katy to be quite an enlightening experience. Not only did we learn about her childhood experiences here in America, but we also learned about life outside our borders. She made many cultural transitions throughout her childhood; as an adolescent, she lived in Spain and Bahrain. Though most would assume that moving from America to another country would be a difficult experience, Katy found that moving back to the U.S. after being away was much more grueling. The hardships that Katy endured make her the strong, independent woman she is today, and that is what we most admire.
