Lora's Pictures

Lora Cynthia Inger Hopp was born on January 20, 1983 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lora is the daughter of Dale and Cynthia Hopp. Her father is a full-time, over-the-road truck driver, who formerly worked as a farmer and a bus driver. Her mother is a Lutheran minister. Both of her parents were born and raised in Minnesota, too. She has one younger sister, Ashley, and both Lora and Ashley are adopted. Lora grew up in a couple different towns in southern Minnesota, including Hector, Paynesville, and Hazel Run, but considers her hometown Hector. Lora lived in Hector the first nine years of her life on what she lovingly refers to as "the farm." There, Lora, her parents, and her sister shared a farmsite with her grandmother and her great-uncle. On the farm, Lora loved to hang out at "Grandma and Quinton's" and play with her sister and pets. Her family has always had dogs and cats. She has also owned several fish and a hamster and now owns her own cat, Audrey. From the time she was a young girl, Lora was always active with her music, especially singing and playing piano. Lora was even the star of Tenderland, a traveling opera that came near her hometown as a child. Her first job was teaching piano lessons to younger children at the age of thirteen. She began playing the flute in the fifth grade and would perform for many different audiences. She was also involved with tap, cross country running, and danceline. Though she is no longer involved with the dancing or cross country, she continues to play and sing. At age sixteen, Lora decided to attend college full-time. She attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota for two years; she graduated from Bethany the same year she graduated high school. She went on to attend Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota for the next three years, spending her second year at Gustavus studying abroad in Austria and Germany. At age twenty-two, Lora is in her second year at Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa.
