Mary Ellen Elizabeth Brown was born on November 27, 1953. Mary spent her years growing up in New Ulm, Minnesota, with her six siblings. Growing up, she had a very close relationship with her immediate family. Growing up, however, it was hard to talk to her mother about certain aspects of her development into woman as well as the birds and the bees.
In high school, Mary was a self-described nerd, receiving straight As throughout her career as a student. Yet she still had time to play on her high schools first basketball team. Her adolescence was also where she developed her life-long love of reading.
Mary never really dated much until she left home and went to the College of St Catherine. This is where she met Neal, her husband to this day. Aside from Neal, she also left school with a B.A in English and a minor in Chemistry.
Currently Mary is in her early fifties and has two sons with her husband Neal. She works at the Lincoln Community Center as a program support staff member, and resides in Mankato, Minnesota.
Overall, Mary recalls her childhood very fondly. She still enjoys looking at her childhood toys that she has saved, and she stays in close contact with her family.
